The apartment was begun by Liamm Flannery and finished by his son, McAllister, to take advantage of unused second-floor storage space above Flannery Hardware. It is overly large for a one-bedroom apartment at 934 ft², but it was the best layout they could come up with in the predetermined space. McAllister had intended to finish out another one in the mirrored space on the other side of the building, but never did more than update the insulation and wiring. His son, McRae, toys with the idea of finishing it, but never does. Siobhan’s son, Kieran, will eventually build it out.

McRae lived in the apartment between graduating high school and when his parents died. After that, it saw a series of renters before Helena James moved back to town and took up residence. When Helena moved out, Ben Casey took on a six-month lease to escape his sister while deciding whether or not to escape Stars Atlas altogether.
